Jagiellonian University Anatomy Museum is located in the building of Theatrum Anatomicum. The three halls consist of the collection of over 2000 specimens of different human parts. The oldest ones come from the beginning of the 19th century.
First specimens were brought from Vienna to the Faculty of Anatomy at the beginning of the 19th century. They were a starter of the collection which have been growing ever since. It is the oldest anatomy museum in Poland and has one of the most numerous collections among facilities of that type. The exhibits are housed in three halls. They were divided into areas of the body from which they come from. The oldest specimens, largely prepared by Ludwik Teichman, patron of the hall, are displayed in the separate room.Less
