Helena Modrzejewska National Stary Theater in Kraków is the second oldest theatre in Poland. As the only one in Poland, it belongs to Mitos21 European Theatre Network which brings together the most important theatres in Europe. Today, it's known for its dedication to young artists and artistic experiments. It plays the newest performances, re-interpretations of classics, and also innovatory multimedia and music performances within "Studio Baz@rt" project.

Since 1992, the event "Guests of Old Theater" is organized here. It consists of meetings with prominent, world-renowned creators of culture and art. It hosted, among others, Peter Brook, Robert Ciulli, Czesław Miłosz, Robert Wilson, and Georges Lavaudant. Another interesting initiative is the foundation operating near the theatre. It supports the development of creative environments in Lesser Poland.
