Kraków's carriages are one of the most recognizable tourist attractions of the city. Their stop is located near the main square but they can be spotted in the entire Kraków Old Town. Routes and prices aren't stable so it's worth to negotiate a little. The carriages are equipped with comfortable couches which can hold four to five people. There is also a possibility to rent a carriage for a wedding or other occasions.
Kraków's carriages became famous mostly because of poet Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński and his "Zaczarowana dorożka" (Magic carriage). It belonged to the cabman Jan Kaczara who was immortalized by Gałczyński as Magic Cabman speaking in verse.First carriages were introduced to Kraków in the 19th century. The main stops were situated between St. Mary's Church and the Kraków Cloth Hall, in the Main station, and Szczepański Square.Less
