Emil Fieldorf "Nil" Museum of the Home Army is located in the former buildings of Kraków Fortress. It collects items related to the activity of the biggest underground European army. The exhibitions present the history of the Home Army, equipment and uniforms of its soldiers, and documents and photographs from World War II.
The major part of the collections was donated by combatants and their families. They contain personal souvenirs, which for some were as relics. Thanks to numerous donators, it was possible to make a rich exhibition which apart from being a fascinating journey to the past of partisans is also a tribute to the soldiers of the resistance. The exhibition arranged in chronological and thematical order displays uniforms, weapons, and souvenirs such as letters. The collection of the underground press, posters, and propaganda leaflets is also rich. The exhibition leads through the formation of first diversion groups after September 1939 to the history of the partisan army which was formed from the remainings of the Home Army after the end of World War II.Less
