Church of the Holy Trinity (Krakowska Street)

Local name: Kościół św. Trójcy (ul. Krakowska)

The Church of the Holy Trinity was built in the 18th century in late-Baroque style. Its facade was designed by Italian architect and sculptor Franciszek Placidi. The ceiling of the main nave is decorated with polychrome by Józef Plitz depicting the history of the Trinitarian Order. The building was entered in the register of objects of cultural heritage.

Visitors can admire, among others, the Neo-Baroque main altar with a figure of Christ, and the late-Baroque pulpit decorated with statues of angels. The side altars consist of painted depictions of Saint Judas Thaddaeus and Saint Cajetan. Their author is Polish painter Tadeusz Kuntze.

the history of the Church of the Holy Trinity is related to the bringing the Trinitarian Order from Lviv to these areas. The church was built in order to serve the order. It wouldn't be possible without a financial aid of Helena Morsztynowa of the Potocki Family. After the mission of the order ended and the order itself was dissolved, the building was changed into a magazine. Years later, it was taken over by the Merciful Brothers.
