Chapel of Blessed Zofia Czeska

Little Chapel of Blessed Zofia Czeska is located in the place of former sacristy in Church of St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist in Kraków. It is worth to take a look at the portal leading to the chapel which from the side of the chapel's interior preserved the original Gothic look. The chapel houses remains of the blessed nun. It also consists of the figure depicting Zofia Czeska. Apart from that, there is not much to see. It's a quiet, tranquil place for contemplation and prayers.

Blessed Zofia Czeska was born in the Kraków's family of szlachta. She lived at the turn of the 17th century and became famous thanks to helping orphaned girls and girls from poor families. She founded the educational facility "Maiden House of Presentation of Blessed Virgin Mary" also known as "Orphan House". It was the first organized female school in Poland. She is also a founder of Congregation of Sisters of Presentation of Blessed Virgin Mary (Presentation Sisters).
