All Saints Church

Local name: Kościół Wszystkich Świętych

Built in the fifteenth century, the Church of All Saints in Kórnik is on the list of Monuments of History. The indoor, Gothic building received a new, neo-Gothic facade after the fire in the 19th century. In the temple you can see the tombstones of representatives of the families to which Kórnik belonged. The oldest of them belong to the Górka family and come from the 16th century. There is also a nineteenth-century tombstone of Teofila Działyńska.

The church was founded in 1437 by Łukasz Górka. In the 16th century it was transformed into a Lutheran temple. It is a Gothic, three-nave hall building, covered with a gable roof. The facade with two low, slender towers and a rosette is much later. It was built according to the design of Franciszek Maria Lanci in the mid-nineteenth century. The church was then rebuilt after a great fire.

During the reconstruction, the interior also acquired the features of a Romantic Neo-Gothic. The church furnishings come from various periods. The oldest are the Renaissance tombstones of the Górka family. The altars come from the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries and represent the Baroque style.
