Jerzy Hoffman Museum of Polish Arms is a unique, private facility exhibiting archeological, numismatic and ethnographic collections, and militaria related to the biggest victories in the history of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Apart from that, there are also items used in screen adaptations of Sienkiewicz's works. What is interesting, most of the display units can be touched and even held. The museum is located in Jantarowy Castle in Kiermusy.
The props from movie sets were donated to the museum by the director - Jerzy Hoffman. Most of them are clothes and recreations of armaments. Especially worthy of attention is the replica of the sword of Longinus Podpipięta, the charakter from the movie "With Fire and Sword", which can be difficult to lift for many. The facility is divided into three parts. The first section is dedicated to the novel "The Knights of the Cross" while the second focuses on the Trilogy by Sienkiewicz. The last one contains the courtyard, towers, and the dungeons which present the torture chamber. The exposition is complemented by music characteristic to the Middle Ages.Less
