The Museum of the Koźle Land in Kędzierzyn-Koźle is located in the flanking tower, a remnant of the castle complex. It presents exhibitions dedicated to the history of the city in the Middle Ages, Koźle Fortress, the ethnography of the region, and also the technics in the 20th century. The museum also consists of collections of paintings, furniture, and old clocks from local houses.
The facility was established by the Association of the Koźle Land. Most of the exhibits come from private collections of members of this organization and donations from inhabitants of Kędzierzyn-Koźle. The museum is mostly dedicated to the history of the city. The exhibition presenting the life in the city from the Middle Ages to the times of the gord is based on archeological troves. There are dishes, axes, weapons, and bone wares discovered during excavation works. Another exposition is dedicated to Koźle Fortress. It consists of the model of the 19th-century fortress and its construction plans.The flanking tower's cellars present the ethnographic exhibition on the subject of the life and material culture of inhabitants of the Koźle Land. There are folk costumes, everyday objects, craft wares, and agricultural tools. The separate exposition contains paintings related to the city, artistic craftsmanship, clocks and furniture.Less
