Wilson Shaft Gallery

Local name: Galeria Szyb Wilson

The Wilson Shaft Gallery with an exhibition area of 2,500 m² is the largest Polish private art gallery. Its name comes from the building where it is located: the guildhall and the Wilson shaft of the "Wieczorek" mine. The gallery has three rooms: Small Gallery, Medium Gallery and Large Gallery.

The Wilson Shaft Gallery primarily exhibits contemporary art, both Polish and international. Its aim is to promote young, committed artists from various fields of art: painters, graphic designers and performers. The Gallery organizes temporary exhibitions, as well as conferences, concerts and other cultural events.

The buildings in which the Gallery is located were created in the first half of the 19th century according to the design of Emil and Georg Zillmann. After revitalization in 2001, the buildings were adapted to the needs of the gallery.
