"In Search of Tomek" exhibition

The exhibition located in a historic carpentry building is an educational exhibition dedicated primarily to children aged 4-12. The exhibition is inspired by a series of adventure novels for children by Alfred Szklarski and their main character, Tomek Wilmowski.

Tomek in subsequent Szklarski’s novels visits exotic countries on all continents. Using this motif, the exhibition "On the trail of Tomek" takes children and young people on a journey, during which they learn about other cultures, and also learn, among others, where pepper grows and who lives in the teepee. The exhibition skillfully combines fun and learning, engages different senses and presents various challenges to the participants.

Alfred Szklarski himself, from his early youth, was associated with Silesia, and from 1945 until his death in 1992 he lived in Katowice.
