The church Archangel Michael is the oldest temple in Katowice. It was built in 1510 on Beata Hill. This building is made of wood and is an extremely valuable monument of religious architecture.
Wooden church dedicated to St. Archangel Michael is located in the Kościuszko Park in Katowice. Its architecture refers to the local folk style of construction and is one of the few examples that can be seen today.
The church has a coronary structure and only one nave. The gable roof is crowned by a small tower. The church itself houses many antique furnishings, including the body of the pulpit from the 17th century, the late-Gothic sculpture of the Virgin Mary with the Child, dating back to the early 16th century, as well as the 15th-century stone stoup. The belfry of the church is also old - it dates from the second half of the 17th century.
