Skalny Stół - 1281 m

Local name: Skalny Stół - 1281 m n.p.m.

It's the highest mountain peak in Karkonosze on the Polish-Czech border. The mountain was named after its specific flat rocks. The eastern part of Karkonosze, Jelenia Góra Valley and the Kaczawskie Mountains are visible from there. Three tourist tracks pass through them.

The height of the mountain is 1281m. It's mainly composed of metamorphic rocks with garnets. The large rocks Krukowa and Old Garnets are located at the slopes.

The network of tourist tracks consists of the blue track to the Sowia Mountain Pass, Śnieżka's summit, Karpacz and Okraj; the yellow track to Kowary through Budniki; the green track from Okraj to Karpacz.

The summit lies in the area of the two Karkonosze National Parks - Polish and Czech. One of the stones has a boundary marker for the Kowary and Sobieszów. The remains of the former mountain settlement Budniki were found at the foot of the northern slopes. It depopulated because of uranium ore exploitation. The tracks are visible in the form of corridor-like excavations and spoil tips.
