The wonderful semicircular dam with a length of 105m and height of a dozen meters is one of the largest attractions in Karpacz. The upper plane of the construction is made available for pedestrians and is great for pleasant strolls. The red track passes through the place. The popular restaurant famous for dancings and performances of Polish music stars is located on the bank of the reservoir.

The dam in Łomnica was built between 1910 and 1915 in order to stop rubble and excess water of the wild, mountain river which can cause a catastrophic flood. The massive, made of giant stones construction together with the lagoon is one of the most interesting and beautiful places in the area. In the past, the swimming center Alexandrinenbad, cafe and shell theater functioned on the bank of the lagoon. Nowadays, It's an ideal place for walking trips and leisure.
