The ski jump has the name of Stanisław Marusarz - the legendary ski jumper, the world vice-champion in 1938. The record for the longest ski jump (94,5m) there was established by Adam Małysz in 2004. In the summer season, the ski jump serves as a viewpoint and place for extreme sports - bungee and ziplining.
The first ski jump in Karpacz was built in 1912. It was named 'Schneekoppenschanze' what means the 'ski on Kopa'. The first competitions took place on 4th February 1913. The winner was American Perry Smith who jumped at 17m. In the interwar period, the ski jump was expanded twice. The record was established by Karl-Heinz Breiter in 1938 at 45.5m.Another ski jump was built after World War II. The works were supervised by Stanisław Marusarz. It was named 'Orlinek' in honor of the Orląt School located in Karpacz. In 1962 the inrun tower collapsed during the storm. The jump wasn't repaired until 1978. In 2000 'Orlinek' underwent a thorough renovation and was expanded to the size of HS-94 what means that 94m is the longest safe jump. Most of the records, including Adam Małysz's jumps, exceed HS-94.Less
