Church of the Immaculate Conception

Local name: Kościół Niepokalanego Poczęcia NMP

Wooden church Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a magnificent building with a characteristic two-tower facade, which refers to the late Baroque stone architecture. In its interior you can see, among others Rococo altars, a pulpit and organ prospectus, a Gothic image of the Coronation of the Mother of God, an 18th-century Passion Group adorning a rainbow beam, an epitaph devoted to the family of temple founders, and a 19th-century polychrome repainted in the 20th century. The church has also preserved decorative elements that are rare today: a canvas with a painted scene of the Crucifixion - the so-called the Lenten tire and the Tomb of God.

The church was built in 1770. The founders were the then owners of Jasienica - Ignacy and Marianna Załuski, whose portraits are still in the temple today. The building has a log construction, three naves and two pole-frame towers. The east-facing presbytery means that the church is oriented.

On the fence line stands the nineteenth-century chapel of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception and a stone screen bell tower. One of the three bells in it comes from the 15th century.
