The Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Hajnówka was built in 1974–1992 according to the design of Aleksander Grygorowicz. The temple has two levels and can accommodate 5,000 believers, making it one of the largest churches in Poland.
In its architecture, the traditional style is combined with modern elements, such as the irregular, concrete roof surface and the characteristic bell tower. The interior of the temple is decorated with polychromes referring to the late Byzantine painting from the 14th century. Iconostasis and some of the icons were made by the Greek painter Dymitrios Andonopulas. In the lower church there is a commemorative plaque dedicated to Archbishop. Miron, an Orthodox ordinary of the Polish Army, who died during the Smolensk catastrophe in 2010.
It is worth mentioning that since the 1980s, the Hajnów Church Music Days have been held in the cathedral, which is the largest festival of church music in Europe.
