The "Żebra Żubra" footbridge is the first educational path built in the 70s. It stretches through the wet forests of the Białowieska Forest and former meadows in the valley of the Narewka River. It owes its name to the construction. It consists of wooden boards and trunks, which are spread at fairly wide intervals and resemble ribs.
The four-kilometer route runs through picturesque, diverse areas of the forest. You can mainly observe alder and alder-ash forests here. Following the path, we will also see other types of forests in the Białowieża Forest, and in them the richness of various species of plants and animals. In the spring, at the entrance to the route, you can meet numerous frogs that have woken up from winter sleep.
The beginning of the footbridge is located a few kilometers after the northern part of Białowieża on the road leading to the town of Budy. Its end is located at the entrance to the Bison Show Reserve. The route is intended for pedestrians. Muddy terrain, uneven footbridges and growing branches prevent the trail from cycling.
