Uprising Museum

Local name: Muzeum Czynu Powstańczego

The Museum of the Uprising in Góra Świętej Anny is located in the building of the former Polish House. It documents the history of the Silesian Uprisings. At exhibitions you can see souvenirs related to the Polish movement in Germany from 1848 to 1918 and the history of the Silesian Uprisings. The multimedia spectacle "Panorama of Silesian Uprisings" is also presented here.

The museum was established on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the outbreak of the 3rd Silesian Uprising. Initially, it was located in Leśnica, where the command of the uprising was stationed. In 1980 they were moved to the Polish House, where in the interwar period was the seat of the Union of Poles in Germany.

The museum documents various aspects of the Polish independence movement in Germany. The exhibitions are devoted to Polish organizations operating in Germany, including the Falcon Gymnastic Society and the Association of Poles in Germany, Silesian Uprisings and a plebiscite in Silesia after World War I. There is also an exhibition related to the history of the monastery and the sanctuary in Mount St. Anna. Recently, the Museum of Opole Silesia Museum has also been moved to the Museum.
