Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre

Local name: Kaplica Grobu Pańskiego

The Chapel of the Holy Sepulcher in Głogówek was built in the 17th century. Over the centuries it has undergone transformations due to fires and war damage. It is a small rectangular building. It consists of two rooms. Inside is the baroque figure of Christ.

In the middle of the 17th century, Jerzy III Oppersdorff ordered the chapel to be built close to the castle, which was supposed to be a replica of the Lord's Tomb in Jerusalem. The chapel has been in existence since 1714, when it was rebuilt after the war. From this period comes a simple facade with a semi-circular peak.

The interior of the chapel is divided into two parts - the vestibule and the burial crypt. There is a small altar in the vestibule. In the second chamber, the figure of Christ resting in the grave.
