Museum in Piast's Castle in Gliwice was established in the beginning of the twentieth century, what makes it one of the oldest museums in Silesia. A main exhibition in Piastowski Castle consists of a historic part, ethnographic part and archeological part. Among exhibits are: a model of Gliwice, old maps of the city and its surroundings, ceramic handicrafts made by craftsmen from Gliwice, and even paleontological exhibits. In addition to the permanent exhibitions, there are also temporary ones being organized in the museum.
Museum in the medieval Piastowski Castle is one of the most important in Gliwice. Since its establishing, a huge collection of exhibits related to the interesting story of the Upper Silesia were gathered.
This museum in Gliwice consists of the four branches, from which its main seat is located in Piastowski Castle. It includes also: Department of Artistic Casting ( situated in the engine room of non-existing anymore mine “Gliwice”), Villa Caro and radio station from Gliwice.
