Artistic Casting Department

The Artistic Casting Department operating near the Museum in Gliwice is one of the oldest museums in Upper Silesia. It is located in the former machine room of closed Black Coal Mine "Gliwice". It consists of one of the first such modern, multimedia and interactive permanent exhibitions in Silesia.

Collections contain largely artistic and industrial castings from cast iron and iconographical exhibits. it is complemented by the commentary on the subject of the items and the history of the region.

The facility frequently organizes temporary exhibitions. One of them - "European cast iron. Gliwice-Berlin-Sayn. Prussian cast iron foundries." was rewarded by Marchal of Silesian Voivodeship in "Museum Event of 2007" and won the second place in a category "Natural, Technical and Medical Exhibitions" in the national contest "Museum Event of the Year - Sybilla 2007".
