From the hill, which can be reached by following St. Brunona, the shores of Lake Niegocin or the path offers a beautiful view of the nearby Giżycko and the surrounding area. Next to the place commemorating the death of the German missionary, there is a walking path and a railway line from Giżycko to Wilkas.

Brunon of Querfurt was a German missionary, archbishop and hagiographer. He took part in Christianization missions in an effort to convert the Yotvingian tribe. A later saint suffered a martyr's death in Giżycko on March 9, 1009.

Giżycko and German Kwerfurt, in which St. Brunon keep in touch with each other. Since 1999, this saint is the patron of Giżycko, as well as the oldest Catholic parish in Giżycko - the sanctuary of St. Bruno. Every year on July 16, an indulgence is held in his honor. A cross was placed on the hill dedicated to the martyr, which is a tribute to the inhabitants - the evangelicals who lived here erected it on the 900 anniversary of the death of Saint. Bruno.
