Water tower

Local name: Wieża ciśnień

Neo-gothic water tower was built in 1900 and until 1997 it was providing water to the city. Nowadays, it hosts a two-story cafe, modern observation deck with telescopes and a local museum showing everyday life of the former citizens of the city. The tower is 25 meters high and to get to the top, one has to climb 129 stairs. It is also possible to take a lift.

Building was built entirely of plastered red brick. Above the entrance there are two coat of arms: Masurian and of Giżycko. The water reservoir placed in a dom used to contain 200 cubic meters of water.
