Guardhouse No. 1 on Westerplatte - Museum is a part of the monumental complex on Westerplatte peninsula. In September 1939, it was a main defense of the coast. As the only one from many guardhouses, it avoided demolition and was recognized as a monument. Today, it belongs to Gdańsk History Museum.

The interior of the guardhouse on Westerplatte also can be explored. Hall of Memory was established here on the initiative of members of the Society of Fighters for Freedom and Democracy. The aim of the founders was to present Guardhouse No. 1 in its original form, with battle stations and equipment used by the crew. The guardhouse displays photographs, weapons, equipment of the soldiers, numerous souvenirs, documentation, and also models depicting defensive positions. Visit in the museum gives an opportunity to learn the detailed history of the defense of Westerplatte.

It is also worth to visit other places on the peninsula such as barracks, monuments, or the small cemetery of fallen soldiers.
