Brzeźnieński Park is one of the most often visited parks in Gdańsk. Its popularity among locals and tourists comes from its historical values, rich forest stand, and also the location - Brzeźnieński Park is situated in close proximity to the beach.
The history of Brzeźnieński Park, bearing the name of the medic of Napoleonic Army, dates back to the first half of the 19th century. The remains of Prussian fortifications can be spotted while walking around old ash trees, willows, sycamores, and maples.The estimated number of trees in the park is almost 5000. The park was made from the transformed seaside forest which was established in order to protect the road used by the Russian army.After World War II, Brzeźnieński Park lost its glory.
