Radziejowski Tower

Local name: Wieża Radziejowskiego

The belfry from the turn of the 17th century, called Radziejowski Tower, was built in Gothic and Baroque style. It's the highest point of Cathedral Hill in Frombork. Its interior consists of the Foucault pendulum indicating that Earth spin on its axis. It has 28,5 m in length.

There are also museum halls and the observation deck in the tower with a view of the captivating panorama of the city and area, the harbor and the Vistula Lagoon. The observation deck is located at 70 m. Another attraction is the Planetarium in the lower part of the tower. The tower is a part of the Italian-style cathedral complex but was built at some distance from the cathedral itself.

The tower's name comes from Bishop Michał Radziejowski who ordered its construction on the older part of walls - the octagonal bastion - used for mounting the cannon. It burnt in 1945 and was rebuilt at the beginning of the 1970s. Visitors can also admire exhibitions of modern art presented on the higher floors.
