Interactive Museum of the Teutonic Knights' Territory

Local name: Interaktywne Muzeum Państwa Krzyżackiego

The only museum in Poland dedicated to the History of the Teutonic Knights' Territory is located in the Działdowo town hall. Museum uses modern techniques like interactive exhibits, siege machines simulators, 3D and VR projections.

In the museum one can follow the history of the Teutonic Order, see the models of strongholds, and learn about medieval war techniques and strategies. Exhibitions reveal secrets of the castle kitchen and everyday life of its inhabitants. Some information is surprising.

The museum was officially opened in 2013 in the place of the town hall. The history of the building dates back to the 14th century. It has undergone numerous destructions over the years. Repairs and modernizations were carried out repeatedly, but obliterated the original, Prussian character of the object. Under the building there still are preserved medieval cellars, however they are not open to the public.
