Diocesan Museum in Drohiczyn is located in the wing of the post-Franciscan monastery from the turn of the 18th century. It consists of valuable liturgical items, sculptures paintings, and royal documents. Especially worthy of attention is the armchair on which John Paul II himself sat in 1999, and the only in Poland Siberian double-box chalice.
Collections are presented in several halls. Apart from the armchair, the papal room consists of paintings, commemorative medals and coins, postage stamps, and postcards. The next halls present chalices, reliquaries, monstrances of the Jabłonowski, Sapieha, and Radziwiłł Families, candelabrums, paxes, and trays. There are also richly decorated chasubles and crosiers. It is worth to take a look at original royal documents with signatures of Władysław IV Vasa, John II Casimir Vasa, and Augustus II the Strong.Less
