The Three Brothers Well is one of the most popular objects in Cieszyn. It is a historic municipal well, which was to be - according to legend - a souvenir of the meeting of the city's founders. This well was an important point in the history of the city, and today it is a great tourist attraction of Cieszyn.
Mention of the most famous Cieszyn well indicates that it could have been built in the Middle Ages, when it supplied water not only for the needs of the inhabitants of the then settlement, but also for production in the Cieszyn bourgeois brewery. Since it was of great importance to the inhabitants of Cieszyn since its inception, in 1868 it was built with a cast-iron openwork gazebo.
Legend has it that it was at this well that the three sons of Leszek III - princes Bolko, Leszko and Cieszko met after a long journey. They had the joy of meeting the city of Cieszyn, whose name referred to "enjoying".
