The Cieszyn district, popularly known as Venice, is located on the Olza canal "Młynówka", in the historical part of the city near the border crossing to the Czech Republic and the Well of Three Brothers.
Cieszyn Venice is a charming, secluded place, closely related to the city's history. The beginnings date back to the 16th century, when Młynówka fulfilling important defensive functions towards the Cieszyn Castle Hill was a strategic place for the city. Along the stream, local craftsmen settled over time, creating native industry. Here a sawmill, power plant and mill powered by the Młynówka water were built. Currently, the area has lost its economic significance.
Today, some of the houses of former craftsmen invite tourists as pubs or restaurants, and although Cieszyn Venice still lacks proper care, so magical atmosphere prevails only here.
Picturesquely located small houses on the water channel "Młynówka" is a charming place attracting tourists and those looking for a secluded place for romantic evening walks
