Okole - 718 m

Okole (718 m) is the tallest peak of Grzbiet Północny of the Katzbach Mountains. The beautiful panorama of Grzbiet Południowy of the Katzbach Mountains with Łysa Góra, and also the Rudawy Janowickie and the Karkonosze can be admired here.

Formations of metamorphic rocks, so-called greenstones, are located near the summit. Pillow lavas - pillow-shaped structures formed by underwater eruptions - can be watched 800 meters east to Okole.

The peak can be accessed by trails in Przełęcz pod Świerkami and Rozdroże pod Leśniakiem. In the past, it was a very popular viewpoint. A tourist shelter Willhelmhütte or Schutzhütte was located here before the war. Stairs and fragments of railways can be found here.
