The museum presents ethnographic, historical, and numismatic collections from Upper Silesia. The latter consists of over 25 thousand exhibits including 16 thousand coins and banknotes and 9 thousand medals and decorations. What is more, the facility has a rich collection of various pieces of art (paintings, sculptures, graphics, drawings), and the library.
The only permanent exhibition "The history of money. Poland - Silesia" is divided into two parts. The first presents the history of mintage in Poland from the 10th century to World War II. The second is dedicated to mintage in Silesia which dates back to the 6th century. The exposition has 830 items in total.It is also worth to take a look at the collection of Upper-Silesian male and female folk costumes, the equipment of apartments, and hand-painted faiences from the 19th century.Less
