The commanding seat in Chorzów is - with its fate, size and degree of conduct - a unique object in the whole country. Built in 1938, it has a passive character, which means that it did not have a combat function. In return, it was intended to be a shelter for staff officers. Over the years devastated, it has undergone full renovation and is fully open to tourists in 2012.
The shelter is two-storey - the lower storey is the warehouses and living quarters, the higher is the workplace of the staff. They are almost fully furnished and equipped, and they are used to indicate the plates that are in front of each entrance. In the halls there were also mannequins in soldier uniforms, which adds to the interiors even more credible character.
There is an audiovisual room in one of the rooms. Also, on the walls you can see maps, photos and posters, and multimedia screens with additional information. The cabinets contain mockups and miniatures of military equipment.
