The Museum of Metallurgy and Machinery Industry is housed in former ironworks in Chlewiska. The original layout of the buildings set in the technological process has been retained in the abandoned factory, which allows the visitors to know the entire production process.
The French Metallurgical Society was built at the end of the 19th century. Up to 1940 there was a large blast furnace, which was the last in Central Europe to be powered by charcoal. The blast furnace unit, which includes in addition to the furnace additional equipment enabling its proper operation, was a unique object on the Polish scale.
You can admire the view from the upper tower deck, which is higher than the preserved furnace. The water lift was installed in it - a helicopter, used to transport raw materials.
The museum also features exhibits of vintage cars and motorcycles and metalworking machines. The steelworks can also be visited at night by the flashlight.
