The Regional Museum in Cedynia was created in the 1960s to disseminate knowledge about the history of the city and its surroundings. There are many exhibits from various eras, mainly from excavations carried out in the area of the Cedynia stronghold, borough and cemetery.
It is dated that the oldest exhibits in the collection of the institution date back to 12000 BC. In addition, there are also exhibitions presenting objects of everyday use from the Stone, Bronze and Iron ages. Exhibitions about the Middle Ages consist of ceramics, tools, graves, as well as weapons - javelins, swords, axes. In addition, there is an exhibition about the Second World War and reconstruction of the course of the fighting at Cedynia in 1945.
The museum is based on the ground floor of a nineteenth-century tenement house. It is the first institution of this type in Cedynia. In addition to the permanent exhibition, temporary exhibitions, as well as educational and entertainment events are also organized here.
