The building of the museum was formerly the seat of the staff of Jerzy Bordziłowski - the chief of engineering troops of the 1st Polish Army and Maj. Aleksander Kofanów, who was the commander of the 6th Pontoon-Bridge Battalion. The facility has an exhibition inside the building and outdoors. Inside, memorabilia of engineering troops were presented, and outside were boats, landing boats, and amphibians.
Among the items presented in the museum are, among others, documents, maps, photos, uniforms, or models of pontoon bridges and pile driver. Near the facility there is a hill on which the Sapper Monument was erected in 1952. It was with him that rallies, appeals of the fallen and demonstrations organized on the occasion of the anniversary of crossing the Odra River were held. Nearby there is also a boulder and a commemorative plaque dedicated to soldiers organizing the crossing.
