Around the middle of the tower of the Mariacki church in Chojno, a viewing terrace was constructed. There is a beautiful panorama of the city and the surrounding area. Interestingly, in good weather conditions, you can also see Schwedt - a German city bordering Poland.
The church tower itself, until 2008, was the tallest structure of this type in Western Pomerania. Its height is just over 100 meters. The viewing platform is located just below the clock, with reinforced concrete stairs leading to it.
When going down from the tower, it's worth taking a look inside the church itself. The Gothic temple was built between 1389 and 1459. The original Baroque furnishings burned down during the fire, but the baptismal font and some of the frescoes were saved. Currently, the interior of the church is used as a concert and exhibition hall. Ecumenical services are also held here.
