Occupying an area of 60 hectares, the garden is a perfect place for relaxing walks with family and to learn about flora from around the world. Within the garden area there are eight thematic sections: Polish plant collections, Arboretum, Alpine garden, Conifers garden, Agrobotanical garden, as well as generic collections and thematic exhibitions. The eighth section is a special botanical path for the blind and visually impaired.
Currently, 820 species of various plants are grown in the garden, of which 460 are wild. The concept of the garden was developed in 1977 by Professor Edward Bartman, and the first plants have been planted there in 1980. A real attraction of the garden is the Alpine garden where miscellaneous interesting mountain formations with a centrally located pond have been arranged. In turn, the path for the blind is comprised of 230 species of plants planted along a special railing and labeled with descriptions in Braille.Less
