The town hall in Brzeg is one of the most beautiful Renaissance buildings in Poland. Built in the early fourteenth century, it gained its present appearance thanks to the reconstruction led by Italy, Jakub Parr. Thanks to it, it gained a magnificent palace facade with two-storey galleries and a soaring tower. Inside you can see representative rooms maintained in the style of the late Renaissance and early Baroque.
In the second half of the 16th century, the councilors of Brzeg came to the conclusion that the Gothic town hall needed reconstruction. Jakub Parr from Lombardy was employed. He had previously managed the reconstruction of the castle in Brzeg. The townspeople of Brest even pierced the offer of King Sigismund Augustus, who wanted to bring Parr to rebuild the royal castle. Thanks to his work, the building admired to this day was created.
Its western facade is hidden behind two-story arcades. Above them, decorated bay windows. Two massive towers stand on its banks. A taller, slender, polygonal tower completes the image of the town hall. Inside there is a richly decorated Ceiling Room from the mid-seventeenth century and Councilors Hall from the eighteenth century.
