The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Brzeg is a baroque building from the first half of the 18th century. It was built according to the design of J. Frisch for the Jesuits who came to the city 60 years earlier. The towers were added in the mid-nineteenth century, then the main facade was built.
The interior of the church was thoroughly restored in 2000, thanks to which visitors can see in all its glory the typical Baroque splendor of this building. The walls and the vault of the main nave are entirely covered with multi-colored and extremely detailed frescoes by the Jesuit Jan Kuben. When visiting the church, it is also worth paying attention to the altar with a Gothic crucifix and richly carved pulpit. In front of the church you can see statues of St. Juda Tadeusz and Saint. John of Nepomuk.
Before the present Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was established, the Dominican monastery complex was demolished in 1545.
