The extremely characteristic rock form composed of granite outliers resembles a human figure with its shape. Its height exceeds 12 m and it is perfectly visible from the entire Jeleniogórska Valley, Skała towers over Karpacz at an altitude of 1423 m as a kind of the Karkonosze symbol. In the vicinity there is a stone bench founded in 1906. There is a beautiful panorama of the Giant Mountains and nearby towns.
Sunflower is one of the most visited rocks in the entire Giant Mountains, shrouded in many legends. In the past, the rock served as a natural sundial, because the sun shortening above its peak pointed exactly to noon. Thanks to this, the formation gained the popular name Sunflower. There is also a legend associated with the rock about a devil who wanted to sink the Jeleniogórska Valley, but flooding the rocks with the Great Pond, he stared and petrified under the influence of the rising sun.
