Bochnia Archaeological Park

Local name: Park Archeologiczny "Osada VI Oraczy"

The "Osada VI Oraczy" Archaeological Park is a reconstruction of the village from the 13th century, which probably existed in Bochnia. Behind the wooden palisade there are huts and outbuildings. Some of them are decorated with craft workshops. In addition to visiting the village, you can take part in workshops and demonstrations of old works.

Villa VI Aratorum because that was the Latin name of the settlement is mentioned in 1234. It was then the salary of the Cistercian monastery in Ludźmierz. At the beginning of the 21st century, it was decided to reconstruct it as an archaeological park.

The settlement is an area surrounded by horse-foot. Inside, there are log huts covered with sloping roofs. They are furnished very simply, with wooden appliances. Each has a hearth. Craft workshops were located in the huts. You can see how shoes, pots, weapons, ropes and canvas were made in the 13th century. During organized workshops, tourists have the opportunity to try their hand at these works.
