Niepołomice Royal Castle

The royal castle, called the "second Wawel", had served for hundreds of years as the residence of Polish kings and a defensive fortress. Currently a hotel and the Niepołomice Museum is located inside, which owns a rich collection of hunting exhibits and hunting collections.
The royal castle in Niepołomice had been built in the middle of the 14th century by order of Casimir the Great and at that time was an example of Gothic architecture. With time, however, it was rebuilt and its style changed to a Renaissance one.The completely restored royal castle now hosts tourists visiting Niepołomice, providing them with accommodation in chambers where once used to sleep kings and dukes from the Piast dynasty, the Jagiellonian dynasty and the electoral rulers.Less
