The Museum of the Land of Augustowska contains many magnificent museums, thanks to which visitors can familiarize themselves with the history and history of the land of the Augustów district, as well as learn about the production of rural crafts and equipment used in agriculture and fisheries.
The facility was established in 1973 by combining the collections of two other museums. It is located in two buildings. Each exhibits are of a different nature.
The first object can be admired ethnographic exhibits. Many of the items presented are furnishings such as old furniture, various types of textile products and tools, and pottery. In addition, there are also folk costumes, fishing gear and farm tools.
The second building houses historical museums, mainly about the history of the Augustow Canal. You can see many important documents, manuscripts, prints, dazzling oil paintings by Irena Krzywińska, old postcards, as well as historical and technical objects.
