Sassen gate
Local name: Sassenpoort
The monumental stone city gate from 1409 is one of the 100 most important monuments in the Netherlands. In 2010, traffic was suspended in this place to prevent the monument from being destroyed by exhaust fumes and vibrations - now the gate is part of the popular pedestrian route.
