Castle Bouvigne
Local name: Kasteel Bouvigne
Bouvigne Castle is a beautiful, fairy-tale residence located among gardens. They are available for sightseeing. Unfortunately, the castle itself can be visited very rarely, only on a few exceptional occasions. However, there is another way to view the interior - from October 1, 2010, Bouvigne Castle is one of the official wedding locations in the municipality of Breda.
The castle is surrounded by three different gardens: French, founded on the initiative of Leopold de Bruyn around 1913, English founded around 1920, with a beautiful chapel, and German founded in the 1930s. There are many beautiful sculptures on their territory. You can also find a Polish accent here - five flamingos by the Polish artist Bronisław Chromy.
It is not known when exactly the castle was built and how it looked originally. In an official act in 1554 he was described as a stately stone house surrounded by canals. Later it was gradually expanded by adding more towers and rooms.
