Jewish Historical Museum

The Jewish Historical Museum in Amsterdam presents the history of the Jewish community living in the Netherlands, the exhibition also focuses on Jewish culture, philosophy and religion. The museum has about 50,000 exhibits, among them are, among others fake documents used by people trying to escape from the fascist country, antique menorahs and paintings.
Visitors will learn the most important rituals and customs as well as the history of persecution of Jews in the Netherlands and other places in the world, there is also a section dedicated to children - Kindermuseum. A traditional menu with kosher dishes awaits guests at the local restaurant.
The first Jewish museum in Amsterdam was opened in 1932, but during World War II it was closed and most of the exhibition was stolen.
