National Beer Museum De Boom

The National Beer Museum is a place where visitors can find out how it is brewed, learn its history, view tools and machines, used for centuries to produce this drink. You can see posters and other advertising materials, bottles, glasses, boilers. Separate exhibitions are also dedicated to small craft breweries and traditional Dutch breweries. The museum also has a tasting room where you can taste different types of beer.

The museum is housed in a historic building of the former De Boom brewery, near the famous Alkmaar cheese market. It was opened in April 1987. Not only recent history is presented here. Thanks to cooperation with the Archaeological Center of the Alkmaar Municipality, exhibitions on the oldest brewing history in the Netherlands have been prepared. Special offers for guided tours even outside the museum's opening hours have been prepared for larger groups.
