The museum is housed in the completely restored 18th-century Fort Thüngen and mainly presents the history of Luxembourg from 1443 to 1903. The permanent exhibition is dedicated to the fortress itself, its structure and function, which has changed over the years. The collection consists of about 600 exhibits.
